The second British woman pilot: Mrs. de Beauvoir Stocks in her Farman biplane, 1911 (1933). Cheridah de Beauvoir Stocks (1887-1971) was only the second British women to gain a Royal Aero Club aviator's licence, which she received in 1911. She never flew again after a crash at Hendon in 1913 left her unconscious in hospital for six weeks. From History of British Aviation 1908-1914, Volume I, by R.
