The Aerial Derby: Lord Carbery with his Morane-Saulnier monoplane, 1914 (1934). John Evans-Freke, 10th Baron Carbery (1892-1970) at the Aerial Derby, an air race sponsored by the Daily Mail in which the competitors flew a circuit around London. It was first held in 1912, with subsequent races in 1913 and 1914. It resumed in 1919 after the First World War, but the last edition was held in 1923.
