AR989474
Heavy ship collision in the Elbe, 31st May 1933. Showing the sunken Guilford Castle in the Elbe estuary off Cuxhaven, the collision was caused by an impenetrable thick fog . The 8000 ton steamer traveling from Hamburg to London, collided with the 6,600 ton steamer Stentor belonging to Holt in Liverpool . The hard wrecked British steamer  Guilford Castle , whose stern yet jutted out of the water is now sunk completely and it must therefore be expected with the total loss of the vessel.
