Tudor kitchen, July 1575, (c1990-2010). Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire. Interior view of preparations in the kitchen for the feast in honour of Queen Elizabeth's visit in July 1575. Constructed from Norman through to Tudor times, the castle was the subject of the six-month-long Siege of Kenilworth in 1266, believed to be the longest siege in English history. The Earl of Leicester gave a lavish reception for Elizabeth I in 1575.
