Finmere Station, Oxfordshire 1904. The Great Central Railway Company built this station on the line from Sheffield through Nottingham and Leicester to London in 1898-1899. A new Great Central Railway terminus was built at Marylebone. Behind these porters are posters advertising tickets for trips to London. These journeys would be unthinkable for most people before the coming of the railways.
