Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin, Russian author, 1880s. Saltykov-Shchedrin (1826-1889), better known as Shchedrin, was a prominent satirist. He acted as editor of the magazine Otechestvenniye Zapiski until it was banned by the Russian government in 1884. Found in the collection of the State Museum of AS Pushkin, Moscow.
