The Auditorium, Chicago, Illinois, USA, c1900. The Auditorium Building was designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler and completed in 1889. When constructed, it was the largest building in the United States and the tallest in Chicago. It was designed to be a multi-use complex, including offices, a theatre and a hotel.
