Red Army commanders Semyon Budyonny, Mikhail Frunze and Kliment Voroshilov, 1920. During the Russian Civil War. Budyonny (1883-1973) commanded the Red 1st Cavalry Army during the conflict, with Voroshilov (1881-1969) as the army's polical commissar. Both men were made Marshals of the Soviet Union in 1935. Frunze (1885-1925) defeated the White Army of Admiral Kolchak in Siberia during the Civil War and was given command of the entire Eastern Front. In 1921 he was elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party and in 1925 was appointed Chairman of the Revolutionary Military Council. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
