Grand Duke Michael Nikolaevich of Russia with his son George Mikhailovich, c1863-c1865. Grand Duke Michael Nikolaevich (1832-1909) was the fourth son of Tsar Alexander I and Charlotte of Prussia. He served as Governor of Caucasia from 1862 until 1882. Grand Duke George Mikhailovich (1863-1919) was the fourth child of Grand Duke Michael and his wife Olga Fedorovna. He served as a general in the First World War and was executed by a Bolshevik firing squad after the Russian Revolution. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
