'Eugene', Eugene de Beauharnais, (c1820s). EugŠne Rose de Beauharnais, Prince of Eichst„dt and Duke of Leuchtenberg (1781-1824) was the son of Alexandre de Beauharnais and Jos‚phine Tascher de la Pagerie, first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. He commanded the Army of Italy and served from 1805 as viceroy of the new Kingdom of Italy under his stepfather Napoleon.
