Departure of Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito from the USSR, 23 June 1956. Tito (1892-1980) visited the Soviet Union in 1956 to underline the reconciliation between Yugoslavia and the USSR in the wake of the signing of the Belgrade Declaration the previous year. The relationship would soon deteriorate again however, in the wake of the suppression of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Found in the collection of the Museum of Yugoslavian History, Belgrade.
