'Wagon from the Oseberg ship', 1935. The Oseberg ship is a well-preserved Viking ship which was buried c834 AD, although the ship itself is thought to be older. It was discovered in a large burial mound at the Oseberg farm near T?nsberg in Norway. The cart was also possibly built before 800, and is decoratively carved. The parts are made of different types of wood, and it can be dismantled for transport, for example by ship. From A History of the Anglo-Saxons, Vol. II, by R. H. Hodgkin.
