Jack Hindon and his train wreckers, 2nd Boer War, c1900. Oliver John 'Jack' Hindon (1874-1919), the most famous of the Boer train wreckers, with his gang. Hindon, born in Stirling, Scotland, was a deserter from the British army. During the 2nd Boer War (1899-1902) he and his men specialised in sabotaging British army supply trains.
