The third tsar of the Romanov dynasty, Feodor III (1661-1682) succeeded his father, Alexis I, in 1676. His death, without a surviving heir (his only son had died in 1681 just nine days after being born), led to the Moscow Uprising of 1682. Found in the collection of The Hermitage, St Petersburg.
