Tomb of Henry IV and his Queen Joan of Navarre in Canterbury Cathedral, 1825. Henry IV (1367-1413) became the first king of the House of Lancaster when he took the throne in 1399 having deposed Richard II. He married Joanna of Navarre (c1370-1437), his second wife, in 1403. Henry's first wife, Mary de Bohun, had died in 1394.
