Sir George Job Elvey, organist and composer, 1882. Elvey (1816-1893) was organist and choirmaster at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle from 1835-1882. His compositions include oratorios, anthems and hymn tunes. From Men of Mark: a gallery of contemporary portraits of men distinguished in the Senate, the Church, in science, literature and art, the army, navy, law, medicine, etc. Photographed from life by Lock and Whitfield, with brief biographical notices by Thompson Cooper.
