John Arthur John Arthur Roebuck, MP, 1881. John Arthur Roebuck (1801-1879) served as an MP for Bath and Sheffield. In 1855 he presided over a parliamentary committee of inquiry into the mismanagement of the Crimean War. Roebuck had a reputation in the House of Commons for asking hostile questions of governments of all parties.
