Salud 1937, by Luis Garay Garcia. Madrid, Spain, 1936-Jannuary 1937. The Fifth Regiment was the fifth of the original Republican volunteer battalions that emerged in Madrid after General Franco led the Nationalist military rising in Spain, in 1936. This poster was probably issued towards the end of 1936 and aimed to show a strong image of organised armed opposition to the Nationalist side. Color lithograph, 39.125 in. x 26.75 in. Inv.
