Thumb, 1994, bronze sculpture by Cesar, 1921-98, in the courtyard of La Seine Musicale, a music and performing arts centre, opened April 2017, on the Ile Seguin in the river Seine, between Boulogne-Billancourt and Sevres, in the Western suburbs of Paris, France. Jean Nouvel was the lead architect from 2009 and the main buildings were designed by Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines. The complex includes La Grande Seine, a large concert hall seating 6000 with a rotating solar panel fin, an auditorium for unamplified classical music, event or exhibition spaces and the Bellini Gardens.
