Elephant sculpture with long thin elongated legs and trunk, by Salvador Dali, in the garden of the Castle of Pubol, now the Gala Dali Castle House-Museum, in Pubol, Baix Emporda, Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Dali bought the castle in 1969 for his wife Gala, and restored and renovated it. Gala was buried in the crypt in 1982 and Dali lived and worked here 1982-84. The castle was originally built in the 11th century and the Church of Sant Pere de Pubol was built 1327-41 in Gothic style. The site opened as a museum in 1996, managed by the Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation. Picture by Manuel Cohen
