Monument to General Prim, detail, in the Parc de La Ciutadella, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Joan Prim i Prats, 1814-70, was a Spanish soldier, politician and Prime Minister, and is depicted in a bronze equestrian statue on a plinth surrounded by reliefs of his military campaigns. The original sculpture was by Lluis Puiggener and was inaugurated in 1889, but it was destroyed to make ammunitions during the Spanish Civil War and remade by Frederic Mares after the war.
