Painted coffered ceiling by Pierre Mosnier, in the Galerie des Illustres, a 26m long Renaissance gallery featuring 327 portraits of important figures from history, commissioned 1620-38 by Paul Ardier, in the Chateau de Beauregard, Renaissance chateau begun late 15th century and extended 16th century by Jean du Thier, in Loir-et-Cher, France. The painters are unidentified and mainly copied portraits from other collections. The chateau is listed as a historic monument and forms part of the Loire Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site.
