Patrick Kollannur, sacristan, cleaning the censers, in the cloister at the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, or Notre-Dame cathedral, built 1163-1345 in French Gothic style, on the Ile de la Cite in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France. The small square cloister was rebuilt 1845-50 in Neo Gothic style during restoration by Lassus and Viollet-le-Duc. In its arcades are 18 stained glass windows made by Alfred Gerente, 1821-68, after designs by Steinhel, depicting the Legend of St Genevieve, patron saint of Paris. Picture by Manuel Cohen
