Strada Latriscata, the Cardo Maximus or main street, Roman, 1st century AD, to the East of the forum, running North-South, in Roselle, an ancient Etrurian city near Grosseto, in Tuscany, Italy. Grooves made by cart wheels are visible in the road. On the right are the ruins of the forum, and in the foreground, ongoing archaeological excavations. The city grew in the 7th and 6th centuries BC in the late Archaic period, and became Roman in the 3rd century BC. It was abandoned in the Middle Ages and excavated in the 19th and 20th centuries.
