King's Study, used by King Vittorio Emanuele II of Savoy, decorated with French velvet upholstery and wall covering from the Modena Ducal Palace, in the Villa La Petraia, a 14th century Villa Medicea at Castello, Florence, Tuscany, Italy. A little window connects the room to the chapel, and on the table is a reproduction of Trajan's Column, 1800-24, in metal. The villa was bought by Cosimo I de Medici in the 16th century and his son Ferdinand carried out remodelling on the building with architect Bernardo Buontalenti, 1531-1608.
