Massacre of the Innocents, tempera painting on wood, 1451-52, by Fra Angelico, 1395-1455, and his assistants, detail from the Armadio degli Argenti, an ex voto door for Santissima Annunziata depicting the Life of Christ, now in the Dominican Convent of St Mark, now the Museo Nazionale di San Marco, in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The original convent was rebuilt 1437-52 for Cosimo I de Medici by Michelozzo di Bartolomeo Michelozzi, 1396-1472, in Renaissance style.
