Arch of Trajan, 1st century AD, a monumental entrance to the Roman Forum of Emerita Augusta, founded in 25 BC by Emperor Augustus, in Merida, Extremadura, Spain. The arch is on the Cardo Maximus and separates the provincial forum from the municipal forum. Its granite stones were originally covered in marble.
