Mocking of Christ, detail from Homo Pietatis or Man of Sorrow, Renaissance fresco, by Fra Angelico, 1395-1455, in Cell 26, in the Dominican Convent of St Mark, now the Museo Nazionale di San Marco, in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. Christ is depicted in his tomb bearing the stigmata, with the Instruments of and scenes from the Passion. The original convent was rebuilt 1437-52 for Cosimo I de Medici by Michelozzo di Bartolomeo Michelozzi, 1396-1472, in Renaissance style.
