The baby Jesus lies on straw in a stable, with Mary, Joseph, St Catherine of Alexandria and St Peter Martyr. The original convent was rebuilt 1437-52 for Cosimo I de Medici by Michelozzo di Bartolomeo Michelozzi, 1396-1472, in Renaissance style.
