The fortified palace is in Late Romanesque and Gothic style and is built around 3 courtyards. It was fortified by Louis XI and renovated by Charles V and Vauban in the 15th and 17th centuries. In the 13th century, Perpignan was the capital of the Kingdom of Majorca. The palace is listed as a historic monument. Picture by Manuel Cohen
