Capital, known as the Tribuna or Berlina, Piazza delle Erbe, Verona, Italy. Built before the 13th century, the Praetorians sat under it for the swearing in ceremony, when they took office. The Piazza delle Erbe (Square of Herbs) stands on the old Roman Forum, and remains the centre of city life. In the background are 14th century Gardello Tower and the Baroque Palazzo Maffei.
