A low angle view of Place du Tertre on January 20, 2009, in Montmartre, Paris, France. The tower of the Eglise Saint-Pierre de Montmartre, the oldest church in Paris, consecrated in 1147, may be seen through the deserted Place du Tertre in the blue light of an early morning in winter. This tower was added to the Church in 1794, during the French Revolution, to serve as a semaphore station.
