A detail of the Puerta del Perdon portal of the Cathedral, on April 11, 2006 in Toledo, Spain. The Gothic portal was sculpted in 1418-50, and bears a tympanum relief by Juan Aleman showing the Virgin Mary handing a vestment to the patron Saint of Toledo, Ildefonso. The Cathedral was built between 1226 and 1493. Toledo is a former capital of Spain, and cultural centre where Jews, Muslims and Christians co-existed.(Photo by Manuel Cohen)
