A general view of the Bema, on April 16, 2007 in Corinth, Greece. The Bema, a platform in the Agora, or main square is seen here in the early morning light with the mountains behind the ruins. Saint Paul was judged here when the Jews accused him of sacrilege in 51 AD. Corinth, founded in Neolithic times, was a major Ancient Greek city, until it was razed by the Romans in 146 BC. Rebuilt a century later it was destroyed by an earthquake in Byzantine times.
