A general view of the stadium, on April 15 2007 in Epidaurus, Greece. It forms part of the Sanctuary of Asklepios, north of the Temple of Asklepios. It was built c. 400 - 350 BC, in the Late Classical Period and only ruins remain. Asklepios was the God of health and happieness and patients came to the sanctuary in search of a cure. The stadium was part of a complex built to meet the needs of patients.
