Study for the Phrygian Sibyl, 1511-1512. This drawing is a study for the Chigi chapel in Santa Maria della Pace in Rome. Over the chapel arch, Raphael painted in fresco the four Sibyls. The seated figure with classical drapery was probably painted from a male model, but the face is idealized, full of grace and beauty.
