Prud'hon, Pierre-Paul (1758-1823)
Standing Female Nude, around 1810. Prud'hon was commissioned to decorate the Hotel de Ville in Paris in celebration of the marriage of Napoleon I and Marie-Louise in 1810. For this he designed a colonnade topped by ten figures representing the arts, sciences and industry. This nude was clothed in the final scheme and represented Navigation.
