Minerva, also called Roma. The headless body of the statue was found and restored in Rome in the 17th century. Cardinal Mazarin bought it before it entered the royal collections. In the 18th century Francuccio Francucci added head and arms, to transform the statue into an allegory of Rome. Porphyry, gilt bronze. MR 341.
