The house of Compton Wynyates, Warwickshire, 1928. Artist: Nathaniel Lloyd
The house of Compton Wynyates, Warwickshire, 1928. The house is seen here on a snowy day, with mist giving an eerie and atmospheric feel to the surroundings. Compton Wyngates sits in a picturesque valley and was built in the early 16th century for Sir William Compton. Although a courtyard house, it is irregular in shape. Originally it had a moat, which is now filled in.
