The exiles visit Bharadvaja's hermitage The three spend the night in the foreSt Rama and Sita lie on one mat his sword and bow beside him while Laksmana seated on his mat reproves Rama for giving way to grief. They then proceed along the bank of the Ganges to the hermitage of Bharadvaja at Prayaga where the Ganges and Jumna meet. In this peaceful place abounding in deer and bird life they offer homage to the hermits and ask the advice of the great sage where they should fix their dwelling in the forest so that they would not be disturbed. He advises the travellers to seek out the Citrakuta mountain sixty miles to the west a lovely spot abounding in fruit flowers and animals and much frequented by hermits.
