The conservatory at Enville Hall, Staffordshire, c1910. Exotic glass conservatory which combines gothic windows with onion-shaped Indian domes. In the foreground is a fountain with entwined dolphins. The conservatory was constructed for the Earl of Stamford and Warrington in 1854. A demolition team stationed at Enville Hall during the Second World War blew up the glasshouse for practice.
