The Lord of Annaland's seat called Clingendael
The Lord of Annaland's seat called Clingendael, The Lord of Annaland's seat called Clingendael close to The Hague seen from the East looking towards the West (ca. 1690). This view of Clingendael is taken from above the more informal wooded area that included the maze. The print gives a good impression of how the garden was compartmentalised by hedges and of the important role played by water in the form of canals, fountains and ponds.   Illustrated by Daniel Stopendaal.
