The Arrival of His Majesty at Honselaarsdijk
The Arrival of His Majesty at Honselaarsdijk, The Arrival of His Majesty at Honselaarsdijk (ca. 1700). A troop of horse is drawn up in line in the forecourt of Honselaarsdijk and trumpets blare to mark the arrival of William III. On the other side of the moat a whole regiment waits together with numerous carriages bearing the members of the King's suite. On the front steps William greets his favourite, Joost Arnold van Keppel, newly created Earl of Albemarle, at the head of a delegation of clergymen and local notables.
