Roman water spout with pointed arch, 1st century AD, leading to canals under the Eastern fortress and opening into a square with 3 obelisks, Apollonia, Fier, Albania. The style of this spout is typically Apollonian and was built under Pax Romana, a time when defence was less important. Apollonia was an ancient Greek city in Illyria, founded in 588 BC by Greek colonists from Corfu and Corinth.
