There is moulded decoration and the piece was fired on its rim which has been copper bound in imitation of Ding yao. The centre is decorated with egrets in a lotus pond, the water shown as swirls. The straight slightly flaring concave sides are decorated with two confronted rows of ruyi heads under a narrow band of key fret design. The glaze is of a creamy white much like contemporary Ding glazes.
