Loss of the Steamboat Swallow
While on her trip from Albany to New-York, on Monday Evening April 7th 1845. When opposite Athens she struck a large rock, took fire broke in two and sunk. By which melancholy occurrence, it is supposed that nearly 40 lives were lost.
