London & South Western Railway (LSWR) Locomotive No 5, 'Ganymede' and tender, c1873. This 2-4-0 steam locomotive was built  in the LSWR's workshops at Nine Elms, South London, in 1873. The LSWR opened in 1840, connecting London and Southampton. It was amalgamated into the Southern Railway in 1923.
