Laycock commercial brake testing unit, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, 1969. Laycock engineering manufactured a wide range of vehicle testing equipment from their base in Sheffield. The photograph shows the control desk of a brake testing machine and in the background can be seen a Commer 10 ton tractor unit with trailer. The range of 10, 11 and 12 ton tractor units were introduced in 1962 and all powered by the Rootes TS35 motor.
