Funeral of Rabbi Elias Haim Meisel, Lodz, Poland, 1912. Mourners pack the streets to see  the coffin of the great philanthropist. Meisel (1821-1912), spelt variously Majzel or Maizel, built a factory for the handweavers who were unemployed as a result of the mechanisation of the textile industry.
