Esglesia de Sant Pere or St Peter Church, 18th century, of the Poble Vell or Old Town of Corbera d'Ebre, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. The town was an agriculture village on the top of the mountain and was subject to the control of the FAI and CNT anarchist unions at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. During this period all the religious items of the church were removed and the church was converted into a cooperative market for the local farmers taking part of the socialist revolution. Later on, the village was attacked by the Nationalist soldiers during the Battle of the Ebro in 1938, a battle which symbolizes the fall of the Republicans during the Spanish Civil War.
